Copa Holdings Announces Monthly Traffic Statistics for September 2008

1. Available seat miles -- represents the aircraft seating capacity multiplied by the number of miles the seats are flown.
2. Revenue passenger miles -- represents the numbers of miles flown by revenue passengers.
3. Load factor -- represents the percentage of aircraft seating capacity that is actually utilized.
For the month of September 2008, Copa Holdings' system-wide passenger traffic (RPM) increased 13.8%, while capacity (ASM) increased 7.9%. System load factor for September 2008 was 72.7%, a 3.8 percentage point increase when compared to September 2007.
Copa Airlines passenger traffic (RPM) for September 2008 increased 16.0%, while capacity (ASM) increased 11.1%. This resulted in a load factor of 75.7%, a 3.2 percentage point increase when compared to September 2007.
Aero Republica passenger traffic (RPM) for September 2008 increased 0.9%, while capacity (ASM) decreased 6.3%. Load factor for the month was 57.1%, a 4.1 percentage point increase when compared to September 2007. Capacity reduction came mainly as a result of Aero Republica's ongoing transition to smaller gauge EMBRAER-190 aircraft.
